NEGROS ORIENTAL IS HOME TO 1,000+ FOREIGN RETIREES.
Negros Oriental has more than 1,000 expatriates who have made
the province their second home as permanent residents. Most
of these foreigners are living in Dumaguete, Dauin and Zamboanguita
areas which are rapidly growing in popularity as retirement
haven for North American and European nationals.
DUMAGUETE HAS GOOD SCHOOLS, HOSPITALS, ETC.
Dumaguete City, the provincial capital, has got everything,
from Internet Cafes with broadband connections, to restaurants
serving international dishes; from Quality schools like Silliman
University (the first American-established school founded
in 1901 - one of the best schools in the Philippines), Montessori
International School and many other quality schools, to big
department stores and supermarkets where both local and imported
goods are sold. It's also got good hospitals with highly-trained
medical staff, some are even U.S.-trained. Known for its "hometown
atmosphere", it's a city of friendly people and wholesome
environment ideal for family and retirement.
